Why should you finance your clients' business?
It is our experience that US companies tend to pay faster than in the UK. However, if you do enough business and invoice from the UK, you will find the "we posted it last week - it must be in the trans-Atlantic mail" story, or even the accounts department that won't take "out of area calls" so you can't chase your money from a UK telephone.
Try to invoice in US$ from a US address with a US payment address. And try to check payment is going to be made the day before settlement is due - not thirty days after.
