British passport holders seeking to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program are now subject to enhanced security requirements. All eligible travelers who wish to travel under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for authorization using the US Department of State of Homeland Security's Electronic System for Travel Authorization - ESTA.

Tip. When entering the US treat the officers at US Immigration with respect and do not joke with them (they have probably already heard every witty remark). Remember, their job is to keep some people out of the US and not to let everyone in.
